Costs of Hiring a Social Security Disability Lawyer

Costs of Hiring a Social Security Disability Lawyer

There are countless people that try to file for social security disability by them selves only to find that the process is hard and drawn out. Normally it’s only when they have been turned down do they consider using a Lawyer. Most people feel that Lawyers fees are more then they can afford. This discourages a majority of such people and they approach a lawyer to fight their case with reluctance, only acting when someone close goads them on to stand up for their rights.

Why hire a lawyer:

Before we discuss the costs involved in hiring a social security disability lawyer, it must be absolutely clear as to why you need to hire one. A fact that’s good to know is more than seventy percent of disability claims are rejected by the social security office the first time. The regulations and procedures for filing a claim are quite complex and a majority of claimants slip up when filing their claims, because they are not well informed. Either their documents are incomplete or their medical records submitted are not compelling enough for the social security office to entertain the claim.

Once their claim is rejected, people will simply give up and say that it’s not worth the hassle. These people will be pleasantly surprised to know that your chances of winning the disability claim benefits are fifty percent more when you entrust the task to a social security disability lawyer. This jump in winning probability when the case is handled by a specialist attorney alone should convince you to start looking for an attorney.

Before you hire a social security disability attorney, make sure that they have a good reputation and credentials and are more or less specialized in handling disability claims. There are a lot of resources online that you can use to get advice. You can search for online communities, forums, or use legal blogs to learn how to find the right lawyer.

Costs of hiring an lawyer:

Once you have made you your mind to hire a social security disability attorney to represent your case before the social security office, you should also discuss openly about what it takes to hire him or her. There should be no ambiguity on this count and both you and the attorney should be clear about the costs involved.

Generally social security disability attorneys don’t charge anything upfront or ask for advance, except for some out of pocket expenses they must incur in gathering evidence, paper work, photo copies and medical reports costs paid to various people. This cost is quite negligent and rarely goes above a hundred dollars. The attorneys specializing in disability claims representation usually work on contingency payment agreement.

This in effect means that you have to pay a certain fixed percentage of past due disability benefits mutually agreed upon when the claim is finally approved by the social security office. If you lose the claim, you pay nothing, but only have to pay when the claim is won by the attorney. In most cases about twenty five percent of the benefit is agreed upon between both parties and dollar five thousand three hundred whichever is lesser of the two. The advantage of hiring a social security disability lawyer outweighs the cost of hiring one.

Make an educated decision when looking for the right social security disability lawyer. It’s wise to know what you need to qualify, what to do if you’ve been denied a claim, and things to be careful of when filing. This social security disability site will break down each medical condition in an easy to understand way, and will help you win your claim!

Too Young to Care About Social Security? Think Again!

Too Young to Care About Social Security? Think Again!

Los Angeles, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 08, 2011

This Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 1pm PST / 3pm EST, college students and young professionals will have the opportunity to attend an online webinar hosted by the Social Security Administration. Disability Group Inc., one of the nation’s leading Social Security Disability law firms, would like to encourage all young adults preparing to enter the workforce to attend remotely.

The Social Security Administration’s latest webinar is called “Social Security 101: What You Need To Know,” and all the information is available on the SSA’s website at http://www.socialsecurity.gov/webinars. The website indicates that the interactive broadcast will educate young adults about the importance of planning and saving for retirement, as well as address questions such as “what is the FICA tax?” and “why is Social Security relevant to young people?” According to Michael Webb, an SSA spokesperson for the Seattle field office, the broadcast will also touch upon questions related to disability benefits.

Patrick Ryan, Director of Operations for Disability Group Inc., feels that it’s important for Americans of all ages to know about Social Security Disability benefits. “Social Security is one of the most widely debated topics in our national political arena,” says Ryan. “Understanding how changes to this system affect your friends, family and yourself is imperative to understanding the context of our current political discourse. The earlier you start learning about the benefits you could someday receive, the better! ”

Ryan further states that young adults who take advantage of the opportunities and resources made available to them by the Social Security Administration will be better prepared to understand the ramifications of decision made by current elected officials. Social Security is currently funded through the year 2037, according to the US World & News Report. This means that if the retirement age remains at 67 years old for Americans born after 1960, benefits for those born after 1970 are as yet undetermined, and the situation remains on the Congressional negotiating table, reports Reuters.

The National Center for Education Statistics reports that 1.6 million students are expected to graduate with a four-year degree in 2011. The information that the Social Security Administration will offer for free via their website on Thursday may help arm these new workers with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their future.

To submit questions in advance for “Social Security 101: What You Need To Know,” visit http://www.ssa.gov/survey/SocialSecurity101Questions.htm. To RSVP for this webinar, visit http://www.socialsecurity.gov/survey/SocialSecurity101RSVP.htm.

Disability Group Inc was founded on the principles of dignity and respect. We are a national law firm focused exclusively on helping people receive the Social Security Disability benefits they deserve.
